EMDR
What is EMDR Therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced based, highly researched therapy that has been successfully used to treat people around the world. EMDR targets the symtoms that connect to past experiences. Your brain can process and store memories in a healthy manner but sometimes overwhelming memories can get stuck leading to feelings of being "frozen in time." Unlike talk therapy, which usually focuses on understanding and managing your feelings, EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process by resolving unprocessed traumatic memories.
How does EMDR work?
EMDR helps you uncover and overcome the negative beliefs that have been holding you back in life. Through the use of eye movements or tapping your negative memories are not erased, but rather, desensitized so that they no longer have power over you. EMDR can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies and can help you find lasting healing.
